David Kratz (that's me!) spent my childhood in Wiangaree a small village in northern New South Wales, Australia. After taking early retirement from secondary school teaching in Melbourne, I settled in Tain (34 mlles north of Inverness) in early 1993. I am now a Supply teacher in the Highland Region. Always a keen amateur photographer and interested in new technology, I soon realised that the web would be an excellent way to share my photos of Scotland with relatives and friends in Australia. Hence, this site was born. Now, after teaching myself the basics of web building, I am delighted to share my photos with a wider audience. Welcome to Northern Sights! This site will feature photos of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, basically the area in red, although I may stray slightly from this zone.
